Data Fellowship 2026

We are pleased to announce that applications are open for the Code for Nepal Data Fellowship. The objective of this fellowship, organized by Code for Nepal with support from DataCamp and TechPana, is to help anyone build their AI and data skills, make progress in their lives, and help Nepal become a tech hub.

Data Fellows will get access to a Premium DataCamp subscription (typically $330/year), along with support for career opportunities and networking. We are grateful to DataCamp for donating access to their expert-led data skill training, used by 1,600+ companies including Google, Uber, and PayPal.

About the program

The Data Fellowship includes:
  1. A DataCamp Premium subscription to take courses and earn certificates.
  2. Opportunity to publish data visualizations and blog posts via the Code for Nepal site. Selected posts (from fellows who've earned a DataCamp certificate) earn a Nrs 5,000 stipend.
  3. Industry/academia expert teaching assistants (offline and online) to support learning and community participation.
  4. Involvement in Open Source Projects.
  5. A digital certificate from Code for Nepal after completion of the fellowship.
  6. Opportunity to contribute to open source data projects after the program.
  7. Opportunity to be part of the Code for Nepal Community.

Fellowship components

Step 1: DataCamp Courses

Fellows should complete the DataCamp course in the given timeframe to enhance their data and digital skills. (Every fellow has 3 months to complete their DataCamp course from the date they get access to DataCamp.)

Step 2: Assignment

Fellows should submit the assignment in the form of a blog post, data visualization, or any other form of publishable output.

Step 3: Soft Skills Development

Fellows will go through soft skills development training.

Step 4: Support

Fellows get an opportunity to further work on the organization project, recommendation of the job and internship and other support opportunities.

Learning outcomes of the fellowship

  1. Community-based learning
  2. Involvement in Data-oriented project
  3. Mentorship sessions (online) via Slack
  4. Preparation for Data Analyst Associate, Data Engineer Associate, Data Scientist Associate and more advanced Certifications

Application Open: July 5th, 2026
Deadline to Apply: Rolling till August 30th, 2026
Number of seats: Limited

Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply
  1. Nepalis in and outside of Nepal. Nepali women, youths, and professionals (especially those from Province 2 and Province 6) are highly encouraged to apply.
  2. High school degree or above
  3. Highly interested in completing the course

We will call for short orientation program if you are shortlisted. The selected fellows must complete all the phases of the program to receive certification.
